This is my dear little dove friend, Peep. Found her when she was a little flightless baby, her parents had been killed by a hawk. Raised her myself, she was a huge part of the family- everyone knows us as the family with the bird. She was allowed to fly around the house, and she was such a huge joy to have around. She would nibble our noses, sleep on our shoulders, roost in her basket on top of the bookshelf. Had her for seven wonderful, wonderful years. We came back from vacation last week to find she had passed away, with no definitive reason as to why. We are all so heartbroken and sad- she is certainly a very important bird. Love you and miss you, my little sweetie.
